Morning Prayer #2

Ephesians 6:12 (12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

There is an unseen battle that goes on all around us, and though we see it not, we are engaged in that war. When we fight like good soldiers of Jesus Christ against doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1) and against everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, we are fighting the Devil whether we know it or not.

O Lord, when we present your Word to others and challenge false beliefs, when we evangelize the lost, when we seek to destroy strongholds of sin in our own hearts, we are not ultimately wrestling against flesh and blood. We are fighting against the kingdom of Satan. We need your power and wisdom to win that fight, and we ask you to empower us to fight and win it today. Amen.
